The Yes Men fix the world – p2p Edition

Die Yes Men haben ihren aktuellsten Dokumentarfilm “The Yes Men fix the world” als p2p Edition veröffentlicht. Mittels Bittorrent kann man sich die 700 MB große Datei hier herunterladen. Gleichzeitig sammeln sie Geld für einen neuen Film. 67,035 Dollar wollen sie über die Aktion einnehmen. Je nachdem, wieviel man spendet, erhält man dafür auch Geschenke. Für 25 Dollar bekommt man eine gedruckte Fake-New York Times und für 100 Dollar bekommt man eine signierte DVD des Films.

Bei Torrentfreak gibt es einen Artikel dazu und auch ein Statement der Yes Men, warum man Bittorrent nutzt. Einer der Hauptgründe: Zensur vermeiden.

“There are a few reasons why we chose BitTorrent. First off, it’s a way to avoid censorship,” Mike Bonanno told TorrentFreak. “This version includes video of an action against the US Chamber of Commerce that we are being sued for. No commercial outlets will touch it. We had a TV show scheduled on Planet Green and their lawyers nearly wet themselves when they heard we wanted to use footage of us making political mince-meant out of the largest lobbying organization in the world.”
